Chef’s Italian Cooking Tips – Marinara Sauce
- Make sure your vegetables are translucent when cooked.
- Use diced Roma tomatoes.
- Use tomato paste to thicken up and add richness to the sauce.
- Continually stir to prevent scorching.
- Add sugar to balance out some of the acid.
- To check if your sauce is done take a wooden spoon and pick up the sauce on the back of the spoon. If it stays on the spoon it’s done.
